1. GREAT WALL OF CHINA






* The Great Wall of China is one of the largest and most famous structures located in China.
Spanning a distance of 7,000 kilo meters, this wall was constructed during various periods,
starting from the reign of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in 221 BCE and continuing through the Ming Dynasty ( 1368 - 1644 ) .


* The Great Wall was built by soldiers, farmers, prisoners, and labourers' over different eras. The primary reasons for its construction were to ensure national security, facilitate quick communication and regulate trade practices.

2. PETRA









* Petra is a rock-carved trading city located in Jordan. The city of Petra was established in the 4th century BCE by the Nabataeans. It reached its peak during the 1st and 2nd century CE. However, after the 2nd century, due to the Roman rule and the shift in trade routes, Petra's significance declined. By the 8th century, Petra had been abandoned. Later, in 1812, it was rediscovered and introduced to the world by explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt.

3CHRIST THE REDEEMER











* The Christ the Redeemer statue, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a world-famous representation of Jesus Christ. The construction of this statue began in 1926 and was officially inaugurated on October 12, 1931. The statue itself stand approximately 30 meters ( 98 feet ) tall, with a base height of 8 meters (26 feet ). Additionally, the width of the statue's outstretched arms spans about 28 meters ( feet ) .


Purpose of Construction:

*The statue was built to commemorate Brazil's 100th year of independence and to serve as an iconic symbol of christianity in the country.

4. MACHU PUCCHU








Machu Picchu : A Part of Deep History 


* Located in the Andes Mountains of Peru, Machu Picchu is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. In the 15th century, Inca Emperor Pachacuti began the construction of this site. It served as a religious and ceremonial canter, and was home to important members of the Inca Empire.

* After the Spanish conquest, the people who lived in Machu Picchu left, and the site was largely forgotten. However, in 1911, American explorer Hiram Bingham rediscovered it and introduced it to the world. 

* Today, Machu Picchu remains a major tourist  destination and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its rich cultural heritage, architectural brilliance, and natural beauty continue to attract visitors from around the globe.

5. CHICHEN ITZA









Chichen Itza : A Testament to Mayan Civilization


* Chichen Itza, located in Maxico's Yucatan Peninsula, was a powerful Mayan city founded around the 6th century CE. It reached its peak in the 9th century as a cultural and astronomical hub. Key structures include EI Castillo ( The Temple of Kukulkan ), the Temple of the Warriors, and the Great Ball Court, all showcasing advanced Mayan knowledge.


* The city declined by the 12th century due to political struggles and was abandoned by the 1400s. Rediscovered by Spanish explorers in the 16th century, Chichen Itza was declared a UNESCO world Hartage site in 1988 and became one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.

6. ROMAN COLOSSEUM









A Brief History of the Roman Colosseum


* The Roman Colosseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, was initiated by Emperor Vespasian in 70 CE and completed by his son Titus in 80 CE. This grand structure could seat between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators and served as a venue for public entertainment.

 
* It hosted gladiator battles, wild animal hunts, and even staged naval battles. The gladiatorial games ceased in 404 CE, and the structure later fell into partial ruin due to earthquakes and stone removal for other constructions.


* Restoration efforts began in the 19th century, and today Colosseum stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the World, symbolizing Rome's historical significance.

7. TAJ MAHAL













Taj Mahal - A Timeless Symbol of Love



* The Taj Mahal, located in Agra, India, is a globally admired monument symbolizing eternal love. Built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who passed away in 1631, it stands as a tribute to their deep bond.


* Constructed over 22 years with white marble and precious stones, the Taj Mahal blends Persian, Islamic, and Indian architectural styles. Its central dome, serene gardens, and reflective water pools enhance its beauty.

* Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, the Taj Mahal attracts millions of visitors every year. It remains a testament to the enduring power of love and India's rich cultural heritage.
