The Snake Island:-

Essay: Snake Island (Ilha da Queimada Grande)

* Snake Island, also known as Ilha da Queimada Grande, is a small, remote island located about 33km off the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It's infamous for being one of the most dangerous places on Earth, largely due to the presence of highly venomous snakes

* The island is inhabited by the Golden Lancehead Viper (Bothrops insularis), a snake species found nowhere else on the planet. These vipers are extremely venomous, with their venom potent enough to cause death within minutes. Interestingly, scientists are studying the venom for potential medical uses, such as in the treatment of blood clots and heart diseases.

* Given the high concentration of these snakes - estimates suggest there are up to five snakes per square meter - the island off-limits to the public. Only a select group of researchers are allowed access to study the wildlife and ecosystem. This has helped preserve the unique species and environment of the island.

* Despite its danger, Snake Island has a diverse ecosystem with dense vegetation and rocky landscapes, supporting various bird species and other wildlife. The island once had lighthouse, but it was abandoned after the dangers of the snake became well-known.
